In light of the current global security situation and the growing activity of the defense industry, project Armor addresses the increasing need for efficient treatment of complex wastewater generated during ammunition production. It is developing an integrated system that combines electrochemical and adsorption processes to remove a wide range of wastewater pollutants – including organic compounds, heavy metals, phosphates, nitrates, sulfates and other potentially hazardous substances, which otherwise pose serious environmental and public health risks.
Armor is an institutional research project at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering, with a duration of four years. The project is funded through the Call for Funding of Institutional Research Projects – Projects for Enhancing Scientific Excellence, with a total budget of EUR 45,742.37
